Financial Practice

Anthony Drake, President of Unison, provides project oversight and project review, as well as ensures quality service, expert advice, responsiveness, and timely completion of the work scope. While Mr. Drake oversees all of Unison's service areas, his particular emphasis is in the area of airport financial strategic planning and analysis. Mr. Drake has more than 20 years of experience in financial management and planning and has directed and participated in assignments for small, medium, and large hub airports throughout the country. Mr. Drake's clients have included most of the major airports in the United States, as well as airports in Canada, Bermuda, the Virgin Islands, and Latin America.

John Sorensen, Vice President, brings more than 35 years of aviation experience to Unison's clients. His primary areas of service include preparing financial analyses and feasibility studies in support of bond sales, negotiating and analyzing airline use agreements and private developer leases, developing PFC programs and preparing PFC applications, calculating airport rates and charges, and participating in properties and facilities planning and administration.

Retail Practice

Judith Byrd, Senior Vice President, directs Unison's Retail Planning and Development practice. Ms. Byrd is also a managing partner in Airport Retail Management. She is a recognized authority in airport retail planning with more than 20 years experience in the development of large and medium hub airports and international terminal facilities. Her expertise includes: assessing the financial performance of existing retail facilities; traffic volume and passenger flow analysis; performing quantitative assessment of future space requirements; merchandise and space allocation plans; infrastructure requirements analysis; financial and economic analysis; evaluation of third party developer proposals for the privatization of retail activities; tenant leasing and negotiation; retail trend analysis; design concept development and market analysis. With her formal legal training, she also provides contract negotiation support on concession lease agreements, airline use agreements, and other airport tenant matters.

Ms. Byrd has worked with more than 30 client airports and served as Officer-In-Charge and/or Project Executive for several major airport retail projects including: Chicago-O'Hare International, Chicago Midway, New Orleans International, Detroit Metropolitan, Salt Lake City International, and Denver International.

Andrew Weddig, Vice President, has more than 20 years of experience in commercial real estate planning and project development, providing market-based asset management and transaction services that have improved the financial performance of numerous retail clients. His skills provide Unison's airport retail clients with specific expertise in operational and tenant monitoring standards needed in today's increasingly competitive and quality-oriented market.

Since joining Unison, Mr. Weddig has served as director or consulting officer for numerous airport retail planning and development projects, including assignments at Chicago Midway, Chicago O'Hare, Kansas City International, Salt Lake City International, New Orleans and others. Further, he currently serves as General Manager of Airport Retail Management, Unison's venture that manages the concessions programs of Chicago O'Hare and Midway Airports. Prior to joining Unison, Mr. Weddig held senior executive positions for several national retail real estate development groups. Among other tasks, he worked on financial planning studies for commercial properties, developed property management accounting systems that defined requirements for monitoring retail tenants and has worked to introduce system improvements that have allowed more efficient lease compliance and financial performance.
